Room to Read is an international educational non-governmental organization (NGO) that partners with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by implementing literacy projects, establishing school libraries, creating local language children’s literature, constructing schools and providing educational support to girls.

Room to Read Tanzania would like to employ people in the following vacant positions:
Program Director
Qualifications Required:
·
Master degree
·
A minimum of seven years of professional experience
·
Good knowledge and understanding of education issues, including teaching
methodologies and community involvement in schools
·
Strong planning, budgetary, supervising, and program development skills
·
Ability to travel frequently to provinces throughout [country]
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
·
Proven track record of achieving results Preferred:
·
Advanced degree in a related field, i.e. education, development
·
Prior experience living and/or working in rural areas
·
Prior experience working with schools, teachers, administrators and government
officials
·
Experience in successful implementation of a wide range of tasks as well as
developing and implementing improvements in a prior position
·
Experience developing and/or implementing large-scale literacy initiatives
Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
Qualifications Required:
·
A Bachelors’ Degree is a minimum requirement for the position but a candidate
with an Honours’/ a Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification in the relevant
field stands a good chance.
·
Candidates with at least 3 years’ experience in project monitoring and
evaluation / research are encouraged to apply.
·
This position will require significant knowledge of research / program
evaluation and monitoring as well as training and project management skills.
·
The incumbent must be computer literate and must have a valid Driver’s License.
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
·
Willingness to travel frequently to schools in order to monitor the program.
·
Prior experience of living and/or working in rural areas will be a definite
advantage.
Literacy Program Manager - (LIPO)
·
A Bachelor’s in Education with backed by at least 3 years relevant teaching.
·
Working with learners, schools, teachers, administrators and government
officials as well as managing people.
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
·
Willingness to travel frequently to schools in order to monitor the program.
·
Prior experience of living and/or working in rural areas will be a definite
advantage.
