Chemonics International Inc., a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks experienced professionals for an anticipated livestock growth project in Kenya funded by USAID.
This five-year contract aims to improve the inclusiveness
and competitiveness of livestock value chains in Marsabit and Garissa while
furthering livestock-related economic opportunities.
Specific areas of expertise include: improved livestock
productivity, animal science, range management, livestock marketing, dairy/meat
processing, agribusiness management, pastoral livestock systems, animal
nutrition/health, and breeding.
Chief of Party
Minimum 10 years experience, including 5 years as COP or Senior Programme Manager, working in livestock or agricultural development programs in the Horn of Africa, including pastoral areas.

Strong communications skills and proven ability to work
collaboratively with host-country officials, donor organizations, and other key

Minimum 10 years regional/international experience in
relevant technical sector.
Demonstrated success implementing programs using USAID’s
facilitated value chains approach.
Strong background in gender integration and women’s
empowerment.
Livestock Specialist
Minimum 10 years experience in livestock development,
including marketing and processing.
Minimum 5 years experience managing or evaluating livestock
programs in the Horn of Africa.
Chief Financial Officer
Minimum 10 years financial management/administration
experience for international projects.
Minimum 3 years experience in management of sub-grants and
sub-contracts.
Demonstrated knowledge of USAID regulations and donor
reporting requirements.
All candidates must possess Master’s degree in relevant
field or Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years relevant experience and English
fluency. Experience in Kenya or E. Africa, specifically in pastoral areas,
preferred.
