Period of Performance: June to November 2012 (15 hours per week - 5 hours per day for 3 days per week)
Supervisors: Programme Manager  -  Enock Banda, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

Background and Objectives

The Regional AIDS Training Network (RATN) is an international non-profit organisation with operations in Eastern & Southern Africa (ESA) region. 
RATN represents a consortium of training institutions who collaborate on training activities related to STIs/HIV/AIDS in the region and whose mission is to strengthen the capacity of relevant individuals, organisations and other stakeholders to effectively respond to STIs/HIV/AIDS.  

Currently RATN has 33 institutions that are full members spread across 11 countries in ESA region.

RATN is seeking for a fresh graduate student, to work in the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation unit.

Scope of Work – Monitoring & Evaluation Intern
 
Learning Objective
To gain experience in how to work with M&E data, perform basic data analysis and how to review and produce reports for an International NGO
Activities and Deliverables
Review M&E data and reports and prepare feedback on the data and reports
Enter all M&E data into spreadsheets and or databases
Prepare basic reports from the spreadsheets and databases
Conduct alumni follow up and analyse alumni follow up data and produce reports
Any other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences or its equivalent
Experienced in conducting statistical analysis using statistical software (SPSS preferable).
Experienced in preparing and formatting graphs and tables using MS Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
Proficient in written communications.
The ability to work independently and take initiative.
Willingness to learn and collaborate with others.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written English language skills.
Experience living/working in a culturally diverse environment.
